COVID-19 Vaccines for Kids Ages 5 to 11

November 5, 2021

Following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and guidance from the Ohio Department of Health, Columbus Public Health is now offering free COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 5 to 11.

 Why Get Your Child Vaccinated

The vaccine is safe and effective at protecting young children from severe complications from COVID-19. While children are less likely than adults to get severely ill from COVID-19, more than 2,000 Ohio children under 18 have been hospitalized with COVID-19, and 15 have died. Vaccinating your child also helps prevent them from becoming sick from COVID-19 and spreading it to vulnerable family members and the community.
