LinkUS Northwest Corridor Study Phase 1 Report Now Available

The Final Report for Phase 1 of the Northwest Corridor Mobility Study is available here. The LinkUS partners are excited about this important milestone and we greatly appreciate your continued involvement and guidance in this process.

Some key elements of the report are:

• recommendation for a new premium Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line along Olentangy River Road and a preferred connection to Downtown Columbus;

• preliminary station area locations;

• conceptual images of what BRT could look like in the corridor, including dedicated transit lanes and other premium transit infrastructure;

• recommendations and design principles for coordinated transit-supportive and walkable development;

• an active transportation (pedestrian and bicycle) connectivity plan and street design principles; and

• an outline of next steps.

These recommendations reflect the results of both technical analysis and over a year of public engagement, including the input of approximately 1,000 community members and stakeholders such as yourself.

With completion of the Phase 1 Report, the project is advancing into Phase 2, which will kick off this summer. During this next phase, the project team will refine the recommendations and prepare the BRT project to advance into the Federal Transit Administration’s Capital Investment Grants process. Phase 2 will also explore the further extension of the Northwest Corridor as recommended in COTA’s NextGen Plan and Insight2050 Corridor Concepts.
