Get FREE COVID Home Test Kits Before Thanksgiving

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Columbus Public Health is encouraging everyone to test before they gather this Thanksgiving. The safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving is to gather with family and friends who are fully vaccinated, but testing before you gather adds another layer of protection – especially for those who are at greater risk of serious illness and those too young to get vaccinated.

Columbus Public Health will distribute free COVID-19 home test kits on November 23 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Celeste Center, 717 East 17th Avenue.

Franklin County residents can get up to 12 COVID-19 home test kits at the drive-thru event, while supplies last, and are encouraged to test themselves and guests the day of gathering or traveling to someone else’s house. If you test positive, stay home and follow guidance on isolating and notifying close contacts.

Free COVID-19 home test kits are also available at local libraries and rec centers. See other testing providers here

The vaccine remains the best tool for protecting health and preventing serious illness and hospitalization from COVID-19. Residents are also encouraged to take other steps to protect health this Thanksgiving by wearing a mask, staying home if they are sick and washing hands.

Columbus Public Health continues to offer no appointment COVID-19 and flu vaccinations at clinics throughout the community. Learn more at www.Columbus.gov/c19vax.
