WHAT:
The Council Residential Districting Commission (CRDC) will release three draft residential district maps for public review on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 5:30p. The maps incorporate the 2020 Census data and resident feedback in the newly defined boundaries.
Residents are encouraged to view the presentation online at Facebook Live or City of Columbus' YouTube channel/.
To date, the CRDC has held a series of nine public outreach meetings, ten public working sessions and conducted an online survey that garnered thousands of results. All of the feedback gathered at these meetings, the survey and public comment on the first draft, inform the current maps.
Given the timing of the release of the maps on Thursday, the CRDC's previously scheduled working session this week is cancelled.
Council will approve one of three final draft maps produced by the CRDC by the end of 2021, and the districts will be in place for the 2023 Council election.
