Columbus City Schools Facilities Plan Meeting Mon. Oct. 25

Columbus City Schools Facilities Plan Meeting

Monday, October 25 — Region 4 at 6:00 p.m. | Centennial HS

CCS Facilities Plan meetings this month includes maps of the district with existing buildings plus blocks representing 100 students each. Participants will use the blocks to understand the trade-offs involved in the decisions.

CCS has a lot more space than students, and the state will only help fund elementary schools that are at least 600 students and high schools for 1,200. And they will only fund spaces for actual CCS students.

Perhaps more importantly, the larger the school, the greater the variety of programming. So kids at bigger schools will get a richer set of curricular and extracurricular activities than kids at small schools.
