Sheep Farm updates

Sheep Farm

October 2019– Trustee Roy Wentzel writes “Good news from the acting CRPD Director, Paul Rakoski, the design for the Historic Sheep 🐑 Farm is in the Capital budget for 2020.  Also, OSU will soon be vacating the property and the City will put up a fence to keep any illegal dumping from happening on the site.  OSU will also remove everything from the property that doesn’t belong like some of the dumping that has already occurred and removal of hay bales, old equipment, old RV, etc. Once that has been completed the city will bush hog the entire property and mow a walking path around the park!  They will keep that mowed until permanent path is installed.  At some point they will of course remove the fence so the park will be open!”

Roy is also advocating to use the property for neighborhood events in the short term and a library in the long term!

Sheep Farm closing delayed 12-27-18

Comments from Trustee Roy Wentzel- “I just received an update from Sophia Fifner with Columbus Parks and Recreation regarding The Historic Sheep 🐑 Farm. OSU will be conducting a second environmental study to ensure any and all contaminates have been dealt with before turning over the property to the City.  New closing date is July 15th.  I think we can all agree that we would rather be safe than sorry regarding this issue!”
