NWCA Trustees vote against Reed Rd Project

At the May 1 meeting the Board of Trustees voted 4 to 3 against the Reed Rd apartment project. The next step is a public hearing at the Development Commission of the City of Columbus on Thursday, May 9, 2019, beginning at 6:00 PM at the MICHAEL B. COLEMAN
GOVERNMENT CENTER at 111 North Front Street, Columbus, OH 43215 in the 2ND FLOOR Hearing Room. A representative from NWCA will read a prepared statement and they will allow 3 speakers in support of the project and 3 speakers against it. NWCA member Dave Pickut will present as one of the speakers against the project, two other speakers will be needed.

NWCA has been working with Preferred Living, nearby neighbors and residents of the district to get details and feedback on the project. The Reed Rd. proposal was on the February agenda and a special zoning meeting was held to gather input from residents. Preferred Living went back to the drawing board to adjust their plan. A second special Zoning meeting was held on April 24 to discuss these changes and give neighbors and residents another opportunity to express their opinions and concerns.
